DECARBOMILE project to decarbonize the last-mile logistics
DECARBOMILE is an EU project to decarbonize last-mile logistics.
DECARBOMILE is focused on green last-mile logistics for urban goods distribution and its kick-off meeting was successfully held in September of 2022. Gathering 31 partners from 10 different countries, DECARBOMILE aims to trigger an unprecedented improvement of the green last-mile logistics in Europe.
The project will develop 4 pilots (living labs) in Spain, France, Germany, and Turkey. Also, it will have 4 satellites in Estonia, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Belgium to test and study the potential of different solutions under different local contexts, involving urban and microurban consolidation centres, cargo bikes, electric barges, etc.
The relation with and between stakeholders will be facilitated by the creation of a collaborative urban consolidation logistics framework that will include a digital platform, methodologies for collaboration, and ICT and IoT tools.
The goal is to use and improve existing solutions and allow their interoperability and modularity to improve their efficiency and use their complementarity.
